A lot can be said for the earnest research of some film companies when it comes to weapons and armory. Many people think that it is far easier to create weapons like swords, knives and daggers out of thin air than to actually recreate some historical pieces. However, the opposite is true. Basing film and fantasy swords from actual swords of the past not only makes the recreating process easier for modern day sword makers, (since there is already an existing model to follow); but it also provides that authentic detail to the film.
